Duxbury Oyster Company was established in 2000 by father and son team John and Patrick McCluskey. On a whim, the duo decided to take advantage of their proximity and access to Duxbury Bay, and carefully selected a site that would provide an optimal combination of fresh and salt water along with sufficient robust nutrients for our Oysters to thrive and grow. Today we continue to farm the exact grant that John and Patrick hand picked nearly twenty years ago.
What started as a fun past time to share these fruits of the sea with family and friends blossomed into a life long love affair with oyster farming. In 2014, the duo became a trio when Kevin Thomson joined the team. Kevin’s devotion to farming can be seen everyday as he continues driving the company forward. In 2017, the team has added Jay Walsh, who brings knowledge of Duxbury Bay, as well as a marketing and communications background to the table.
